Daffodil Group has announced a commitment to dedicate one-third of its net profit from 2026 onwards to the welfare of the people of Bangladesh.

The announcement was made during the Group’s annual Family Day event at Daffodil Smart City on Friday.

The event was attended by over 6,500 members and senior leadership of the organisation.

The commitment will be formalised through an official agreement, signalling a shift from profit-focused operations to long-term social and national development.

Speaking at the event, Daffodil Group Chairman Sabur Khan said the initiative is not a conventional corporate donation but a long-term “nation-building investment”.

He added that the funds will support education, scholarships, youth leadership, healthcare, job creation, social protection, innovation, and the expansion of district-based development programmes nationwide.

Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Group, clarified that the allocation of one-third of net profit will not affect employees’ salaries or benefits.

The Group also honoured 79 employees with over 20 years of service and 13 employees with more than 30 years of service during the event.

In a media statement, the Group said this move sets a model for ethical corporate leadership in Bangladesh, emphasising the role of businesses in national development and public welfare.
