Farhad’s DUCSU election candidacy challenged in High Court

BM Fahmida Alam, a candidate for the Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs Committee of the left alliance panel, files the petition

A writ petition has been filed at the High Court challenging the candidacy of SM Farhad, nominated by Oikyaboddho Shikkharthi Jote and supported by Islami Chhatra Shibir, for the post of general secretary in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election.

The petition was filed by BM Fahmida Alam, a candidate for the Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs Committee nominated by the left alliance.

The High Court bench of Justice Habibul Gani is likely to hear the petition on Sunday.

Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua is representing the petitioners, while Advocate Shishir Manir is counsel for SM Farhad.
