The elected representatives of the Chittagong University Central Students' Union (CUCSU) have said they are conducting its activities with money from Islami Chhatra Shibir, Jamaat-e-Islami’s student front, due to a lack of fund allocation from the administration.

A CUCSU leader backed by the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the BNP’s student wing, has protested the decision.

Although CUCSU became active about a month ago, it has not yet received any funds, the union's General Secretary Saeed Bin Habib said.

"The university administration has not yet given a single paisa for CUCSU's work. The programmes we have organised for the students have been financially supported by Islami Chhatra Shibir and our alumni."
