Nobel Laureate Dr Anne L’Huillier, a professor of Atomic Physics at Sweden’s Lund University, has delivered a lecture at the American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB).

She delivered a lecture titled “The World of Atoms at the Attosecond Time Scale” as part of the Dr Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series on Jun 3, according to a media statement from the university.

The webinar was organised by the AIUB Faculty of Engineering.

“During the session, Dr L'Huillier introduced the emerging field of attosecond physics and demonstrated how ultrafast light pulses can be used to study electron motion within atoms and molecules,” the statement said.

“The webinar drew significant participation from more than 200 faculty members, researchers, students, and science enthusiasts.”

Prof ABM Siddique Hossain, dean of the Faculty of Engineering, delivered the welcome speech. The event concluded with closing remarks by AIUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Saiful Islam, who thanked Dr L’Huillier for her “inspiring presentation and valuable contributions to the global scientific community”.

“The lecture provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and highlighted AIUB’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and international collaboration,” AIUB wrote.
