Dhaka University has formed a committee to take action against teachers, officials and employees accused of opposing the July Uprising.

The university also plans to proceed against organisations linked to those individuals, according to Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Mohammed Almujaddade Alfasane.

He said the decision was taken at a Syndicate meeting on Tuesday night.

"Many people have submitted evidence-backed complaints against individuals at Dhaka University who opposed the July Uprising.

“Based on those complaints, a committee has been formed. It will examine the evidence and take action against those individuals and their organisations," Prof Almujaddade told bdnews24.com.

The Syndicate meeting began at 6pm and concluded at around 11:45pm.

A four-member committee was constituted at the meeting.

Its members are Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam, Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Almujaddade, Pro-VC (Education) Prof Abdus Salam, and Syndicate member Prof Morshed Hasan Khan.
