Daffodil Group and Board of Trustees of DIU Chairman Md Sabur Khan was chief guest at the inauguration programme on Tuesday.

The centre is a joint initiative of DIU, the Proyash Technology Foundation, and six technology companies, aimed at strengthening advanced engineering capabilities, industry-academia collaboration, research and technological innovation in Bangladesh.

Gamma Technologies Inc (GTI), USA Co-Founder and Senior Vice President Syed Wahiduzzaman attended as special guest, the institution said in a statement.

Other attendees included Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) former president and Datasoft Manufacturing & Assembly Incorporated Ltd Chairman Mahbub Zaman; BASIS former secretary general Forkan Bin Kashem; and Daffodil Group CEO Nuruzzaman.

The centre begins its work with System Modeling and Simulation, with plans to later expand into Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Digital Twin Technology, AI-assisted Engineering Design and Renewable Energy Systems Simulation, among other areas.

GTI has provided internationally recognised CAE software licences for the centre, giving Bangladeshi students, researchers and industry professionals access to global engineering simulation technologies.

"Bangladesh's future will be driven by knowledge, innovation, and advanced engineering skills," said Sabur, adding that the centre would help drive the country's industrialisation and technology-led economic growth.

The centre will also partner with Daffodil Computers PLC, Project Promoters Private Limited, Datasoft Manufacturing & Assembly Incorporated Ltd, Cybernetics Hi-Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd and Carl Benz Auto Care for joint research, training and internship programmes.
