JUCSU: Election Commissioner Mafruhi Sattar quits over irregularities and mismanagement

He is the fourth teacher to withdraw as five panels and several independent candidates boycott the vote

Prof Mafruhi Sattar, a member of the Election Commission, has withdrawn from the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election, citing irregularities and mismanagement.

On Friday at 8:45pm, he called reporters to announce his decision.

Prof Mafruhi, from the pharmacy department, is also the president of the university branch of the BNP-aligned Jatiyatabadi Teachers’ Forum.

He is the fourth teacher to step down from the election process amid the boycott of the polls by five panels and several independent candidates.
