UAP holds Freshers' Orientation for Spring 2026 semester

Parents join UAP's event to discuss expectations for their children's academic journey

Freshers’ Orientation for Spring 2026 held at University Asia Pacific

The University of Asia Pacific (UAP) has held a Freshers' Orientation Programme on Jul 25 for newly enrolled students of the Spring-2026 semester.

Alamzeb Farjad Ahmed, senior vice-chairman of UAP's Board of Trustees, attends as chief guest, welcoming freshers to the university and urging them to pursue academic excellence with discipline, integrity and confidence, as stated by the institution.

He assures students of the trustee board's full support in maintaining a quality learning environment.

Special guests Mohammad Kaykobad, distinguished professor at BRAC University's Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Syed Ershad Ahmed, deputy chairman and vice-president of MAC Holdings (Private) Limited, also address the freshers.

Kaykobad encourages students to stay curious and think critically, while Ahmed calls the orientation the start of an important academic journey, urging students to engage in co-curricular activities to build leadership and teamwork skills.

Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan chaired the event, congratulating the freshers and stressing discipline and lifelong learning.

UAP Registrar retired brigadier general Prof AKM Nazrul Islam and Proctor Prof Dr Aloke Kumar Saha brief students on university rules, while Acting Director of the Directorate of Students' Welfare Mohammad Rakiv introduces them to campus clubs.

Deans Prof Sayeed M Ahmed, Prof MA Baqui Khalily and Prof Mohammad Shahriar also speak at the event, which is attended by department heads, faculty, staff, freshers and their parents.

The programme concluded with an interactive session with parents and guardians to discuss their expectations and strengthen collaboration.
