East West University has organised an orientation event for around 2,200 newly admitted students for the Summer Semester 2026.

The event was held at its Aftabnagar campus on Thursday.

The sessions were arranged by different departments to familiarise freshers with the university’s academic environment, code of conduct, and available facilities, including scholarship opportunities.

Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and former Bangladesh Bank governor Mohammed Farashuddin attended the event alongside Vice-Chancellor Shams Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor Ashik Mosaddik and Treasurer Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury.

Deans, department chairpersons, faculty members and students also joined the event.

Alumni and industry representatives took part in the sessions and shared their professional experiences with the newcomers.

Speakers encouraged the students to uphold the university’s values and ethical standards throughout their academic life.

They also urged the students to develop leadership and communication skills and cultivate a mindset of continuous learning to prepare themselves for a competitive and technology-driven world.
