Twenty-two candidates are contesting unopposed for several posts in the Chittagong University hall council elections. Among them, 21 are female and one is male.
This information was shared in the draft candidate list released on Sunday, following the verification of the nomination forms for the residential hall elections.
Prof AKM Ariful Haque Siddique, member secretary of the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) and hall union Election Commission, told bdnews24.com that whether these candidates would be elected unopposed can be said after the publication of the full candidate list on Sept 25.
As per the schedule, nomination scrutiny is scheduled for Sunday, with the preliminary list of candidates to be published on Monday.
The final candidate list will be released on Sept 25, and voting will be held on Oct 12.
