CUET pond claims two more lives 15 days after death of another student

Two students of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology have drowned while bathing in a pond, just 15 days after another died there.

The incident occurred at the pond beside Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall on Wednesday.

The dead were Arnab Dutta, a student of computer science and engineering, and Shanto Deb from electrical and electronic engineering. Both were from Moulvibazar.

Earlier, on Jul 28, mechanical engineering student Arnab Saha died after entering the same pond to bathe.

Saiful Islam, director of CUET’s Student Welfare Directorate, told bdnews24.com the two students entered the pond at noon. They were rescued and taken to Evercare Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
