Daffodil International University Chairman Md Sabur Khan has spoken at the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) Semi-Annual Conference 2026 in Lithuania, where the university was named host of the association’s next semi-annual conference.
The conference was held in Vilnius from Apr 29 to May 1, hosted by Mykolas Romeris University under the theme “Resilient Minds, Innovative Pathways: Universities Leading Global Transformation”.
Khan, founder and chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU), delivered a keynote presentation titled “Leading with Integrity: Ethical and Inclusive Leadership in a Global Context”, according to a press release.
In his address, he highlighted ethical governance, inclusive leadership, innovation and future-ready education in the changing landscape of global higher education.
He also presented the DIU model, focusing on sustainable infrastructure, entrepreneurship development, student-centred policies and international academic collaboration.
Khan, who is Treasurer-Elect of the IAUP, said global collaboration in higher education was essential for building resilient institutions and preparing future generations for future challenges.
“Daffodil International University remains committed to contributing to this global transformation,” he said.
During the conference, Khan met Regina Valutytė, Lithuania’s vice minister of education, science and sport. Valutytė had visited DIU in 2019 while serving as vice rector of Mykolas Romeris University, the release said.
The conference brought together academic leaders from different countries to discuss ethics, innovation, sustainability and the future of higher education.
DIU will host the IAUP Semi-Annual Conference from Nov 19 to Nov 21, 2026.
The university said this would be the first time in IAUP’s history that the conference will be held in South Asia, positioning Bangladesh as an emerging centre for international academic collaboration.
