The BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) has inaugurated the Abdullah Hil Rakib Auditorium at its campus in tribute to the late industry leader, education advocate, and former member of the institution's Board of Trustees.
According to a BUFT media statement, the dedication honours his enduring contributions to Bangladesh's readymade garment sector and higher education.
The ceremony, held on Wednesday, was attended by key institutional leaders, including Faruque Hassan, chairman of the BUFT Board of Trustees and former president of BGMEA, alongside board members Md Moshiul Azam Shajal and Mohammed Nasir.
Other prominent attendees included Shin-Shin Group Chairman Mohammad Sohel Sadat, TEAM Group Managing Director Dr Afroza Shahin, TEAM Group Deputy Managing Director Abdullah Hil Nakib, Giant Group Director Sharmeen Hassan, and BUFT Vice-Chancellor (Designate) Prof Ayub Nabi Khan, together with the university's acting pro-vice chancellor, treasurer, registrar, faculty, students, and guests.
The event commenced with the unveiling of the auditorium, followed by a documentary highlighting Rakib's life, leadership, and institutional contributions.
