East West University (EWU) has organised an orientation event for newly-admitted students in the Spring Semester 2026.

The event was held on Thursday at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium in the university’s Aftabnagar campus in Dhaka.

According to EWU, the orientation was aimed at familiarising new students with the university’s academic environment, code of conduct, rules and regulations, and available facilities.

Professor Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the Board of Trustees and former Bangladesh Bank governor, and Vice-Chancellor Professor Shams Rahman addressed the students. Deans of various faculties also spoke at the event.

In their remarks, the speakers highlighted the university’s focus on academic excellence and ethical leadership, and urged students to develop skills that would enable them to contribute to national development.

As part of the event, the Office of the Student Welfare organised a club fair featuring 23 student-run clubs.

The clubs showcased their activities and invited new students to take part in extra-curricular engagements alongside their studies.
