Uttara University has marked World Human Resource Day 2026 by organising the UU HR Summit 2026.
The event took place on Thursday, bringing together corporate leaders and HR professionals to discuss industry trends, collaboration and the future of human resource management, the university said in a media statement.
Jointly organised by the university’s Office of External Affairs and School of Business in association with the Federation of Bangladesh Human Resource Organizations (FBHRO), the event was held at the university’s Multipurpose Hall with support from Guardian Life Insurance Limited.
Held under the theme “Where Future Leaders Meet Industry Icons”, the summit brought together around 20 senior HR professionals, talent strategists and industry representatives from leading organisations.
Representatives from sectors including banking, telecommunications, insurance and diversified business groups attended the event, the statement read.
Participating organisations included United Commercial Bank, Mercantile Bank, Grameenphone, Banglalink, bKash, United Group, Bdjobs.com, Transcom Distribution and Guardian Life Insurance, among others.
The summit featured keynote sessions and discussions focused on industry practices, emerging workplace trends and the evolving role of human resource management.
Uttara University Vice-Chancellor Prof Eaysmin Ara Lekha said the university aims to strengthen connections between academic learning and practical industry experience.
She said initiatives like the HR Summit create opportunities for students to interact with professionals and gain exposure to changing workplace demands.
The event was moderated by Prof ASM Shahabuddin, director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Uttara University.
In the statement, organisers said the summit aimed to create a platform connecting students and future professionals with industry leaders.
