1,035 students cleared to run for 13 posts in DU hall council polls

The final list of candidates for the Dhaka University hall council election slated for Sept 9 has been published.

According to a press release from the university’s Public Relations Office, 1,035 candidates will vie for 13 posts across 18 halls.

Meanwhile, 73 candidates have withdrawn their candidacy, while the nomination of one aspirant has been cancelled.

Earlier, 1,109 nomination papers had been submitted.

•    Surja Sen Hall: 75

•    Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall: 60

•    Shamsun Nahar Hall: 35

•    Kabi Jasimuddin Hall: 68

•    Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall: 73

•    Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall: 59

•    Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall: 36

•    Amar Ekushey Hall: 76
