CUCSU election draws 25 for VP, 22 for GS, 22 for AGS posts

Only 429 have filed nominations for different posts after 529 took forms

As nominations wrap up for the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) election, 25 aspirants have thrown their hats in the ring for vice-president (VP), while 22 have stepped forward for general secretary (GS).

The assistant general secretary (AGS) position has attracted 22 hopefuls.

Ariful Haque Siddique, member Secretary of the Election Commission, confirmed the figures on Friday night.

Thursday was the final day for submitting nomination forms for both the CUCSU and hall elections.

Although 529 forms were collected, only 429 were returned by the deadline.

Nomination scrutiny is scheduled for Sunday, with the preliminary list of candidates to be published on Monday.

The final candidate list will be released on Sept 25.
