BRAC Bank has appointed Monzula Morshed as its deputy managing director and chief human resources officer.

The appointment is effective from Feb 1.

She will also serve as a member of the bank’s management committee, according to a media statement.

Monzula brings more than 25 years of experience in people and organisational leadership across the telecommunications, manufacturing, banking and FMCG sectors.

Welcoming the appointment, BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan said bringing in a seasoned HR professional reflects the bank’s strategic ambition to transform itself into a trusted, innovative and inclusive financial institution.

“Her proven ability to align people strategy with business ambition will play a critical role as we continue to strengthen BRAC Bank as a purpose-driven, high-performing organisation,” he said.

Tareq added that her local and international experience would support the bank in areas such as change management, talent development and fostering an enabling organisational culture to sustain its growth.

Before joining BRAC Bank, Monzula worked as lead consultant at Second Mountain Consulting.

Earlier, she served for more than a decade as chief human resources officer at Banglalink Digital Communications Limited and Lafarge Surma Cement Limited.

Her career includes senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank in Bangladesh and Thailand, and British American Tobacco Bangladesh.

Monzula holds an MBA and a BBA from Dhaka University’s Institute of Business Administration.

She has also completed executive leadership and advanced HR courses at INSEAD, London Business School and the University of Oxford.
