Chittagong Port has employed 208 people and promoted 1,464 staff members since the July Uprising.
The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) revealed the figures on Sunday, describing those as a “record”.
These appointments and promotions were made between Aug 11 2024 and July this year, said CPA Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim.
The CPA said it had set a “rape example” to address unemployment and “boost the morale” of the port’s employees through the appointments and promotions.
It claimed that these appointments and promotions had been processed ensuring “transparency and accountability”.
According to the CPA, 144 employees were hired and 799 were prompted at the port between 2021 and July 2024.
