Dhaka, Oct 31 (bdnews24.com)— 'BGMEA Help Desk' has gone into operation to ease the hassles of export-import of readymade garments at Chittagong port.
BGMEA president Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and port chairman commodore M Anwarul Islam inaugurated the help desk on Monday afternoon.
BGMEA secretary Moin Uddin told bdnews24.com that the help desk will be operated jointly with Container Terminal Management System of the port and "will work with the port authorities to reduce export-import hassle and accelerate export-import activities".
It will be run at BGMEA's own expenses inside 'M' shed at Chittagong port, he added.
Moin is hopeful that handling of container and ship will improve gradually and the garments factories will be provided with updated information relating to port operations.
