LPG cylinder prices drop by Tk 39 in July

Domestic LPG prices are adjusted to match the international price drop

In response to a slight drop in international prices, the government has lowered the cost of 12kg LPG cylinders by Tk 39.

This change is only applicable for July.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced that the revised pricing would take effect from 6pm on Wednesday.

A review of the last two months’ pricing data reveals that the average international price of LPG raw materials, propane and butane, was $580.50 per tonne in June, set by Saudi Aramco. For July, the rate has been revised down to $555.50 per tonne.

As a result of the international price drop, domestic LPG prices have also been adjusted. The new retail price per kg of LPG in July is Tk 113.64, including VAT. This marks a Tk 3.30 cut per kg, compared to Tk 116.94 in June.

Because of this, the price of a standard 12-kg LPG cylinder has been reduced from Tk 1,403 in June to Tk 1,364 in July, reflecting a total drop of Tk 39.

The price of reticulated LPG has also been revised. For July, it stands at Tk 109.89 per kg, down from Tk 113.19 in June.

The price of autogas has been set at Tk 62.46 per litre for July, compared to Tk 64.30 in the previous month.
