The government is keeping the prices of diesel, kerosene, octane and petrol unchanged in September.

Consumers will therefore buy the fuels at the same prices for four consecutive months.

From Sept 1, diesel will continue to sell at Tk 115 a litre, octane at Tk 145, petrol at Tk 140 and kerosene at Tk 135.

The decision was announced to the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation chairman in a letter from the Fuel and Mineral Resources Division’s Operation-1 branch on Monday.

BPC sent its proposal on Aug 25 for September’s fuel prices.

The letter said the prices set in a May 31 gazette would remain unchanged.

“With approval from the appropriate authority, those prices have been kept unchanged for September. The latest prices will therefore remain effective from Sept 1.”
