Shimanto Bank convenes senior management, regulators to discuss risk management strategies

Participants reviewed risks linked to money laundering and discussed essential measures to confront future business risks

Shimanto Bank has organised its “Annual Risk Conference 2025” at its Head Office, bringing together senior management, branch officials, and regulatory experts to review and strategise on risk management.

The conference was attended by chief guest ANM Moinul Kabir, director of the Department of Off-site Supervision at Bangladesh Bank.

Mohammad Azizul Hoque, managing director & CEO, Md Sahidul Islam, head of business, members of the senior management team, unit heads, branch and sub-branch managers, and officials from various divisions of the bank were also present.

Mahmuda Haque, joint director of Bangladesh Bank, participated as a resource person.

Held on a hybrid platform, the conference featured extensive discussions on the bank’s comprehensive risk assessment, risk management structure, techniques for risk mitigation, approaches to capital supervision, and investment-related risks.

Participants also reviewed risks linked to money laundering and discussed essential measures to confront future business risks, emphasising the bank’s commitment to robust governance and proactive risk management strategies.
