BYD launches three new energy vehicles in Bangladesh

BYD has introduced three new energy vehicles in Bangladesh: the Seal 5, Seal 6 and Sealion 6 AWD.

The launch event was held at Dhaka’s International Convention City Bashundhara on Sunday.

According to a media statement, the event was attended by BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division Deputy General Manager Ketsu Zhang, CG Runner BD Ltd Chairman Hafizur Rahman Khan, and Managing Director Amid Sakif Khan.

The event included product presentations and the handover of 60 pre-ordered vehicles to customers.

The newly launched lineup includes the Seal 5 plug-in hybrid sedan, the fully electric Seal 6 sedan and the Sealion 6 AWD hybrid SUV, featuring technologies including BYD’s Blade Battery system and driver-assistance features, the statement added.

Speaking at the event, Zhang said Bangladesh is becoming an increasingly important market for the company’s new energy vehicle strategy.

BYD Bangladesh Chief Marketing Officer Imtiaz Nawsher said the new range aims to expand electric and hybrid mobility options across different customer segments.

According to the statement, the Seal 5 has been priced at Tk 3.89 million for the first 500 units, while the Seal 6 will be available at Tk 4.89 million and the Sealion 6 AWD at Tk 7.19 million.
