Walton Group Founder SM Nazrul Islam passes away
Walton Group founder SM Nazrul Islam has died at the age of 93.

He succumbed to age-related health complications around 9:45pm Sunday at Dhaka’s Apollo Hospital, the Walton Group said in a press release.
Nazrul was born at a village in Tangail in 1924. He began work at a company owned by his father SM Atahar Ali Talukder but moved on to a separate business after Bangladesh’s liberation. He founded the electronics and automobile group, Walton, in 1977.
A funeral service was arranged for Nazrul at Walton Group’s corporate office in Bashundhara Residential Area at 10:45am on Monday. Another funeral service was held at 12pm at the Walton factory at Gazipur’s Chandra.
His mortal remains will be buried at his family graveyard in Tangail after Asr prayers, according to the press release.
The esteemed businessman leaves behind his wife, five sons, two daughters and several grandchildren.
