PRAN bags $5m spot orders in Germany food exhibition

PRAN has fetched export orders worth $5 million at Anuga 2017 food and beverage exhibition.

The Bangladeshi food processor said in a media release on Thursday that it received the orders from the importers of 35 countries at the fair at Koelnmesse Exhibition Center in Cologne, Germany.

Over 7,400 companies from 107 countries took part in the five-day fair that began on Oct 7.

This is the 14th time PRAN Group joined the fair.

Assistant General Manager of PRAN Export Golam Rasul said this year, the group displayed more than 500 products in two stalls.

Juice, confectionary and bakery items were the centre of attraction among the buyers, PRAN said in the release. 

PRAN Export Chief Operating Officer Md Mizanur Rahman said the company received 'fabulous' response from the buyers.

"...the main purpose of participating in the exhibition is to expand export market," the release quoted him as saying.

According to the release, PRAN products are now being exported to 134 countries.

The Group exported $231 million worth of products in 2016-17 fiscal year.
