President Md Shahabuddin has signed the Finance Bill for the 2026-27 fiscal year.

He signed the bill at the President’s Chamber in parliament at 2:30pm on Thursday.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Planning Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, Finance Secretary Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder, and National Board of Revenue Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan and others were present for the occasion.

At 10am, a special cabinet meeting was held in the cabinet room of the Parliament Building under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman where the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 was announced.

The prime minister then signed the budget file approved by the cabinet.

The president listened to the finance minister’s budget speech from the designated gallery on the sixth floor of the Parliament Building.
