Tarique, among many big fish, arrested

Tarique Rahman is arrested. Khaleda Zia's son leads an impressive list of arrestees in raids starting late Wednesday night through early Thursday morning. Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain, a BNP standing committee member, was picked up from his Gulshan home. Chittagong mayor A B M Mohiuddin Chowdhury was taken away from his home in the city. One of the early raids was that on the daily Janakantha office: Atiqullah Khan Masud was led away by the joint forces. Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former Islami Chhatra Shibir president Syed Abdullah Taher was arrested from Shyamoli in the capital. The forces went to the Sudha Sadan and left the vicinity of the Dhanmondi home of Sheikh Hasina after 40 minutes. A bdnews24.com correspondent on the scene said the officers went inside and spent a few minutes.
