Outlawed party cadre, listed terrorist killed in 'crossfire' in Khulna and Comilla

Dhaka, Oct 11 (BDNEWS)- New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) cadre Aslam Hossain Goldar, 35, was killed on Monday night in 'crossfire' with police at Sajiara Village under Dumuria upazila of Khulna district. Meanwhile a notorious listed terrorist Kamruzzaman, 24, was killed in 'crossfire' with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) early hours on Tuesday at Sadar upazila of Comilla district. Dumuria thana Police in Khulna said Aslam, a cadre of Mrinal group of NBCP, was accused in three cases including for killing his sister and brother-in-law. A police team led by SI Azmal Huda arrested Aslam Goldar from Sonadanga Bus Terminal area on Monday night and later started drive along with him for recovering arms. When the police team reached at Battala near Sajiara Pujamondap field, a gang of terrorists hiding there attacked them. Fighting occurred for 30 minutes between police and terrorists and Aslam was shot and killed while trying to escape. Police recovered a two-barrel foreign gun and two round of bullets from the spot. BDNEWS Comilla Correspondent adds: Notorious listed terrorist Kamruzzaman, 24, was killed in 'crossfire' with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) early hours on Tuesday at Sadar upazila of Comilla district. According to RAB-7 sources, a RAB team arrested Kamruzzaman on Monday night from Nayapur Bazar under Sonargaon upazila. Following his statement, the team took him to Noikahon area to arrest his accomplices and seize arms at around 3:00 am Tuesday. When they reached Daulatpur, the robbers opened fire and the Rab men retaliated. Kamruzzaman was shot and killed in crossfire while trying to escape. RAB team seized one pistol, one gun, six bullets and machete from the spot. RAB sources said Kamruzzaman and his accomplices commit robbery on the Dhaka-Chittagong and Comilla-Sylhet highways and in Comilla town. BDNEWS/1900 hrs
