The committee, headed by Dr Professor Shariful Islam, has been asked to submit its report within two working days, the medical college Vice Principal AZM Sakhawat Hossain has said.
Security in both the medical college and the hospital has been beefed up, he said.
Some hospital staff joined work but the intern doctors were yet to resume work.

Technicians and Grade IV staff assaulted an intern-doctor around 2.30am on Tuesday, when he tried probing the case of a wrong report being issued to a patient by the blood-testing laboratory.

The hospital food manager Md Golam Mostofa said the angry interns damaged the kitchen during the clash, leaving chief cook Fazlul Haque injured.
Other cooks panicked and left the kitchen.
There are 26 cooks in the hospital, Mostofa said, adding that 13 work in each shift.
Since all of them left, no food was cooked for 684 patients in the hospital.
Cook Fazlul and two other staff, Tito and Badal Dash, were admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
