Dhaka, March 9 (bdnews24.com) – Joint forces in a pre-dawn raid Friday arrested Awami League joint general secretary Obaidul Quader from a home of a party colleague in the city's Khilgaon area.
Sources in the party chief Sheikh Hasina's Sudha Sadan home confirmed the news.
The officials raided the home of Dhaka city Awami League member Ali Newaz at around 5:00 am and arrested Quader.
The agents also arrested Newaz.
Quader, a former state minister in 1996-2001, apparently slipped through the joint forces' net Wednesday night when some political stalwarts including Tarique Rahman were captured in a major crackdown against "corrupt" people.
