The three Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) leaders were sentenced to death over the 2004 grenade attacks on the then UK envoy that killed three police personnel.
The preparations started after President Abdul Hamid rejected their clemency pleas on Monday, said Kashimpur jail's Senior Superintendent Md Mizanur Rahman.
Security has been beefed up around the jail and police patrols are ongoing across the city, said Gazipur Superintendent of Police Md Harun-Ur-Rashid.
Hannan and Sharif Shahedul Alam alias Bipul are behind bars in Kashimpur while Delwar Hossain Ripon is at Sylhet Central Jail.
Police had asked the families of Hannan and Bipul to meet them for one last time on Tuesday but no-one showed up until afternoon, said a jail official.
The jail authorities are yet to confirm the date and time for the execution.
"We are extra cautious as previously the militants had attacked a prison van carrying Mufti and others in Tongi," said the jail superintendent.
Those detained in the incident have 'confessed' to their crimes under Section 164, he said.
Former British high commissioner Anwar Choudhury came under a grenade attack on May 21, 2004 at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal in Sylhet. Anwar survived but three died and more than 50 sustained wounds.
