Hamid, Hasina, Khaleda congratulate Bangladesh cricket team on ODI series win against India

President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia have congratulated the Bangladesh Cricket Team on winning the three-match ODI series against India with a game in hand.

Tigers torment India to seal series

In a message on Sunday, the president thanked the Bangladesh team along with the manager, coach and cricket board officials. 

 

He also expressed hopes that Bangladesh would continue their winning streak.

 

Hasina’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam told bdnews24.com she said Bangladesh’s cricket secured a respectable place on the world stage because of the government’s utmost sincerity to develop the country’s cricket and the maximum efforts of the players.

 

The BNP chief in a statement said, “Like the 160 million Bangladeshis, I am proud of the win by the Bangladesh cricket team.”

 

Her Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan said she also wished good health for the players.

 

Bangladesh won the second ODI of the series on Sunday with six wickets in hand after thrashing the two-time world champions on Thursday by 79 runs.

 

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, former ICC president and Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal and Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus also greeted the team after the match in Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
