Prime Minister Tarique Rahman off to Cox’s Bazar’s Moheshkhali

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has left Dhaka by helicopter for Cox's Bazar’s Moheshkhali.

After leaving his Gulshan residence at 8:50pm, the premier left for Moheshkhali from Tejgaon Airport at 9:15am, said the Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Ruman.

He said, "The honourable prime minister will inspect Moheshkhali’s Matarbari Deep Sea Port, the Coal Power Project and the activities of the Moheshkhali Integrated Development Authority."

"From there, the honourable prime minister will visit the flood-hit Banshkhali and Hathazari areas and provide new houses for the rehabilitation of flood victims."

Atikur, who accompanied the prime minister on the trip, later confirmed his arrival in Moheshkhali at 10:30am.

The PM’s Programme

-    At 10:30am, the premier will visit to the Matarbari Deep Sea Port, Coal Power Project and Moheshkhali Integrated Development Project activities.

-    At 12:30pm, he will attend a rehabilitation programme for those affected by the recent floods at Paschim Banshkhali High School and College grounds in Moheshkhali’s Baharchhara Union

-    At 2pm, he will meet with Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagari at Al-Jamiatul Islamia Azizul Ulum Babunagar Madrasa in Fatikchhari

-    He will visit the grave of Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi at Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Mainul Islam Madrasa in Hathazari at 3:15pm,

-    The prime minister will stop at Hathazari Dak Bungalow at 3:45pm

-    Tarique will attend a rehabilitation programme for those affected by the recent floods at Hathazari Government College grounds at 5pm

-    Finally, he will attend an organisational meeting at the auditorium of the Radisson Blu, Chittagong Bay View hotel in Chattogram at 7:15pm.

Additional Press Secretary Ruman said that the prime minister will go to Moheshkhali from Dhaka by helicopter and then to Chattogram by road from Fatikchhari. After completing all the programmes, the prime minister will return to Dhaka by plane from Aman Shah International Airport at 9:30pm.

Although he has been to Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar, this is Tarique's first visit to Moheshkhali, Fatikchhari and Hathazari.
