BNP lawmaker Tahsina questions PM Tarique about progress on electoral pledges

It was the first question in the prime minister’s maiden question-and-answer session

Tahsina Rushdir Luna, the BNP lawmaker from the Sylhet-2 constituency, has questioned Prime Minister Tarique Rahman about the progress on fulfilling the BNP’s electorion pledges.

The wife of former BNP leader M Ilias Ali, Tahsina raised the questioned in a question-and-answer session in parliament on Wednesday.

The 30-minute Prime Minister's Questions (PMQs) segment for Tarique Rahman started at 3pm with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad in the chair.

Tahsina asked: “What progress has been made in the various activities announced in the government's election manifesto?”

It was the first question of the session, followed by several others from the Opposition.

Coincidentally, it came during the prime minister’s maiden question-answer session, the first since the 13th parliament started its journey on Mar 12.

When the Leader of the House approached to answer her, Tarique was congratulated by government MPs. Opposition leaders welcomed him too.
