Four people have been killed in a road crash near Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka’s Vatara Thana.
The accident occurred around 6:30am on Wednesday, police said.
Ziaur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner of the Gulshan Traffic Division, said: “A Kuril-bound Islam Paribahan bus drove onto the road divider, with half of the vehicle stuck on the opposite lane.
“A Rampura-bound Akash Paribahan bus then crashed into the Islam Paribahan bus.”
One person died on the spot, he said.
“I made inquiries and learnt that three more people died when several of the injured were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital.”
The buses have been recovered and regular traffic has been restored, Ziaur said.
The dead have yet to be identified, the police official said.
