Three interim government officials appointed as Biman directors

With the latest appointments, Biman’s board now consists of 15 directors

Three officials currently serving in the interim government have been appointed as directors of the state-owned flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The appointees are National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman, the Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant on ICT Faiz Taiyeb Ahmad, and Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed.

The appointments were announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Wednesday.

The notification was signed, by order of the president, by the ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary Shakila Pervin.

According to the notification, the three were appointed as members of the board of directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited under Section 30(b) of the Bangladesh Biman Act.

Issued in the public interest, the order takes effect immediately.

On Aug 26, Civil Aviation and Tourism Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin assumed responsibility as chairman of the Biman board.

With the latest appointments, Biman’s board now consists of 15 directors.
