Another 11 districts get new deputy commissioners

As part of the reshuffle in local administration, new deputy commissioners have been appointed in 11 more districts of the country, including Rajshahi, Khulna, ans Chuadanga. Besides, they will also have additional duties to serve as district magistrates.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

According to the notification, Deputy Secretary Kazi Shahidul Islam of the Ministry of Public Administration has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi; Deputy Secretary Lutfun Nahar of the Ministry of Home Affairs to Chuadanga; Deputy Secretary Hure Jannat of the Secondary and Higher Education Division to Khulna; Deputy Secretary Marzina Akter of the Finance Division to Madaripur; Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary) Abu Saeed of the Government Printing Press to Brahmanbaria; Deputy Secretary Ahmed Ziaur Rahman of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to Chandpur; Deputy Secretary GM Sarfaraz of the Cabinet Division to Habiganj; Deputy Secretary Israt Jahan Keya of the Ministry of Labour and Employment to Narsingdi; Deputy Secretary Shilpi Rani Roy of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs to Meherpur; Deputy Secretary Rashedul Haque Pradhan (Secretary) of the Power Development Board to Lalmonirhat; and Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) Md Saniul Ferdous of the Land Management Automation Project has been appointed to Bandarban.

Earlier, on Mar 15 this year, the government had appointed new Deputy Commissioners to Gazipur, Panchagarh, Chapainawabganj, Kushtia, and Netrokona.

On Feb 12 this year, the BNP government came to power after securing a two-thirds majority in the general election. Since then, the process of reshuffling and appointing officials to various positions in government institutions and offices has been under way.
