Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed has said the interim government will allocate funds to implement the National Pay Commission’s recommendation to double -- or more -- the basic salaries of government employees.

He added that a committee will be formed to review the commission’s proposals.

Speaking after a meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Salehuddin said: “Many of you have questions about the Pay Commission. I’m telling you clearly that we will form a committee to examine it. We will also implement the budget in phases.

“We will provide the funds first, then announce the recommendations. The report is very good, and we hope it will be successfully implemented.”
