A Dhaka court has ordered five days of police interrogation for two suspects arrested over the recovery of a dismembered body of businessman Ashraful Haque from a plastic drum near the High Court.

The suspects are Ashraful’s friend, prime suspect Jarezul Islam alias Jarez and his partner Shamima Akter, also known as Shamima or Kohinur.

Metropolitan Magistrate Israt Jennifer Jerin approved the investigation officer’s petition on Saturday evening, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Jinnat Ali of the Prosecution Division said.

Police’s Detective Branch arrested Jarezul in Cumilla's Daudkandi on Friday night, while Shamima was picked up from Laksam in the same district.

The duo was produced before the court on Saturday, where DB’s Dhanmondi Zonal Team SI Md Enamul Hasan sought seven days of police quizzing.
