The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast rain across all eight divisions as the Bengali month of Falgun draws to a close.
In its Monday morning bulletin, the Met Office said that temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain or thundershowers are likely in one or two places over Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
In the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning, Netrokona recorded 7.1mm of rainfall, followed by 1mm in Mongla.
Trace amounts of rain were also reported in Kishoreganj’s Nikli and Patuakhali.
According to the forecast, a seasonal low-pressure system is positioned over the South Bay of Bengal, with an extension stretching across West Bengal and surrounding areas.
During the same period, the country’s highest temperature of 33°C was recorded in Narsingdi and Khulna.
The five-day outlook suggests that the trend of scattered rain and thundershowers will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday.
While daytime temperatures are expected to remain steady, night temperatures may rise slightly during these two days.
By Thursday and Friday, the intensity of the rain is expected to increase in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet, while other divisions will continue to see sporadic showers.
Temperatures are likely to dip slightly toward the end of the week.
