“Echoes of Peace” – a weeklong solo photography exhibition by internationally acclaimed photographer and bdnews24.com Head of News Photography Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman – has ended in New York.
Organised to mark the International Day of Peace, the exhibition was on display at the Save the People Auditorium of the Peace Center on Hillside Avenue in Jamaica.
The exhibition featured 40 striking photographs highlighting the beauty of Bangladesh’s nature, culture, rural life, human struggles, and interfaith harmony. Each image intended to carry a message of peace and humanity and to inspire and move visitors.
Dr Toshikazu Kenjitsu Nakagaki, UN interfaith leader, president of the Heiwa Peace and Reconciliation Foundation of New York, and chief guest at the exhibition, said: “These photographs are not only about aesthetics; they deliver powerful messages of peace, humanity, and harmony.”
“The root of unrest in the world lies in division,” said Dr Mahatapa Palit, director of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Center in New York. “Yet we are all children of the same Earth. Coming together is our responsibility, and these photographs echo that very call for unity.”
Climate change expert Richike Lipikouiz, filmmaker and peace activist Dima Nefartiti, news presenter Sadia Khandkar, photographer and researcher Dr Obaidullah Mamun, cultural personality Tahrina Parvir Preeti, photographer Sajid Hossain, and Mostafigur’s wife, Kazi Jebun Nahar were among the other speakers.
Dr Muhammad Shahidullah, CEO of Save the People, moderated the closing ceremony.
In his concluding remarks, Mostafigur expressed gratitude to the New York–based non-profit organisation Save the People, the United Nations Association of the USA – Queens Chapter, the Peace Center of USA, the Interfaith Center of USA, and the GNRC for making the exhibition possible.
Expatriate Bangladeshis, photographers, and art enthusiasts were in attendance on the vibrant final day of the programme.
Organisers and guests expressed the hope that “Echoes of Peace” would not only present Bangladesh positively on the international stage but also play a meaningful role in spreading the message of peace and harmony worldwide.
