The interim government will provide Tk 2 million each to the families of those killed and Tk 500,000 each to those injured in the fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara.

Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus approved the compensation allocation during a meeting of the Advisory Council on Thursday, said his Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

The government will also provide free treatment at government hospitals for those who sustained more severe injuries in the devastating accident, and each injured person will be issued a health card.

On Jul 21, an Air Force training jet crashed into a building on the Milestone School and College campus. The deadliest aviation accident in the country’s history, it left 36 people dead, most of them children.

A government investigation later concluded that a take-off failure caused the jet to crash.
