That sums up the spirit of cooperation between Europe's two leading countries.
French and German foreign ministers, Laurent Fabius and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, on Monday attended the topping-off ceremony of the building along with their Bangladesh counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.
The ceremony marks the point when the highest or last steel beam is put in place in the building that marks the symbolic completion of the structure.
The French minister said this joint embassy was “a symbol of our relationships".
It would be a “green” building, ready for use beginning of next summer.
The foundation stone was laid on Jan 22, 2013—the 50th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty that confirms the rapprochement between the once bitten enemies.
The change in Franco-German relations helped the advent of the European Union.
According to the German embassy, this synergy between the two nations led the architects of the building to propose a formal concept of “permanent growth”.
The DNA molecule, two parallel spirals made the architecture of brick and concrete demonstrate that harmonious relationship in which both need the other to grow, generating life around them.
This building will also be the new image of high technology and ecology that France and Germany are recognised for.
In this scheme, each entity gets its equal share of exposure on all sides; the continuity is insured by two continuous stairs facing each other around the atrium.
