Documentary film awarded

A Bangladeshi documentary film promoting tourism has won the first prize in an international festival of tourism films.

Amitabh Reza Chowdhury directed and Bangladesh Tourism Board produced film “Land of Stories” won the prize at the ‘Zagreb Tourfilm Festival’, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

The film depicts the beauty of the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove, and the largest sandy sea beach at Cox’s Bazar.

The award ceremony will be held at the Mimara Museum in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia on June 6.

The purpose of the festival is to award films and audiovisual productions that promote various aspects of tourism.

The festival is being held under the patronage of the President of Croatia.
