Dispute over leading Eid prayer turns deadly in Rajshahi BNP clash

BNP supporters clash over the appointment of Imam for the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer in Mohanpur

A Jamaat-e-Islami activist has been killed during a violent clash with BNP supporters over the appointment of an Imam for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers in Rajshahi’s Mohanpur Upazila.

The incident took place around 8pm on Saturday at Sakua, according to Mohanpur Police chief SM Moinuddin.

The dead was identified as Mb Alauddin, a local Jamaat activist.
