Heavy rain has inundated low-lying parts of Chuadanga, leaving several neighbourhoods waterlogged.
Water has accumulated in Chandmari Field, Arampara, South Hospital Para and Gulshanpara, while several roads across the district town have also gone under water.
The district recorded 167mm of rainfall between 3:40am and 9am on Friday, according to Chuadanga Met Office in-charge Jaminur Rahman.
He said the rain eased briefly in the morning before drizzle resumed around noon.
The downpour kept most residents indoors unless travel was unavoidable.
Arampara businessman Murad Hossain said floodwater had entered many homes in the area, while roads remained submerged because the water had not drained away, causing hardship for residents.
Asmat Ali, a resident of Gulshanpara, said the road from his neighbourhood to South Hospital Para is low-lying, leaving it submerged along with nearby streets.
