Customs officials at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram have seized 15 mobile phones and a large quantity of foreign cigarettes from a passenger arriving from Dubai.

The seizure was made around 10am on Saturday after the baggage of passenger Mohammad Hossain Zahed Habib was searched by customs, intelligence and airport security officials.

Airport spokesperson Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil said the haul comprised five iPhones and 10 Google Pixel devices, alongside 270 cartons of cigarettes.

Authorities estimate the market value of the seized items at around Tk 1 million.

The goods have been handed over to Chattogram Customs for further action.
