The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has released a list of casualties from the Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Diabari.

According to the latest update at 12:30pm on Tuesday, the DGHS said the death toll stood at 27. However, the number of people undergoing treatment has dropped to 70.

Among the injured, 43 are receiving care at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, while 23 are being treated at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). They include 40 students, six teachers, 15 military personnel, a policeman, a Fire Service member, a school staffer, a domestic help, and an electrician. Four others remain unidentified.

Earlier at 8:30am, Sayedur Rahman, the chief advisor’s special assistant to the health ministry, said that 27 people had been confirmed dead and 78 were receiving treatment at various hospitals.

The DGHS said that out of the 27 who died, 23 were children. The remaining four were adults, including the pilot, teachers, and a parent.

As of 12:30pm, 20 bodies have been handed over to families, according to the list.

On Monday, an F-7 BGI training aircraft of the Air Force crashed onto the Milestone School and College campus during class hours. Many students inside the classrooms suffered fatal burn injuries.

In the wake of the tragedy, Bangladesh is observing a day of mourning on Tuesday.
