HSC protesters lift Shahbagh blockade, threaten fresh action

The candidates warn they would block roads again on Thursday if their demands are not met by the night

HSC exam protesters have ended their two-hour blockade at Shahbagh after demanding the education minister's resignation and two other measures.

The protesters cleared the road at 7:55pm on Wednesday after warning they would resume the blockade on Thursday if their demands were not met overnight.

Ideal College student Rahat Ahmed said, "We have one demand -- the education minister must resign by 10pm [Wednesday]. Otherwise, we will begin a [protest march] to the Secretariat from the Science Laboratory intersection at 10am [on Thursday]."
